Ganguly banned for 6 ODI

Ahmedabad: India’s captain Saurav Ganguly on Tuesday was banned from playing six one-day internationals because of India’s slow overrate against Pakistan in the last two matches, a cricket official said. “ International match referee Chris Broad has told me that the ban has been imposed because of India’s persistent slow overrate,” Gautam Dasgupta, joint secretary, BCCI, told reporters. In Ganguly’s absence, India’s leading batsman Rahul Dravid will captain the Indian team, Dasgupta said. —AFP
