Khatri, Timilsina in final:

KATHMANDU: Bidur Khatri and Subarna Timilsina entered the final of 20-kg and above category at the third Uma Goju-Kai Karate Tournament that started here today. The two-day event has been organised by Nepal Goju-Kai Karate Association. Others who made it to the finals are: Mahesh Thapa Magar and Atish Shrestha (25-kg) and Su-man Dhital and Rabi Maharjan (30-kg). — HNS

Acme enter semi-finals:

KATHMANDU: Hosts Acme Engineering College ‘red’ defeated Kantipur Engineering College (KEC) 23-25, 30-28, 25-17 and entered the semi-finals of the first Acme Inter-technical College Volleyball Tournament, today. In other quarter-finals, Institute of Engineering(IOE) beat Acme ‘blue’ 25-19, 25-21; Kathmandu Engineering College beat IOE 25-20, 25-18; and KEC beat Advance College 25-19, 25-20. — HNS

KATHMANDU: NSC member secretary and vice chancellor of Royal Nepal Academy Dr Basu Dev Tripathi jointly gave away prizes to the winners of various sports events, organised to mark the Silver Jubilee of Baba Boarding School, today. While Baba won the running shield in boys’ taekwondo, Holy Land School did so in table tennis. In girls’ table tennis, Aims Academy won the running shield and Pushpa Sadan School clinched the Baba Silver Jubilee Trophy. — HNS
