Deco passes Barca test

BARCELONA: Portugal midfielder Deco passed a routine medical examination, clearing the way for his $22.2 million transfer to Barcelona from FC Porto. Deco will sign a four-year contract with Barce-lona. Club physician Dr Jordi Ardevol said Deco was “in good shape” and added he had recovered completely from a serious knee injury three years ago. Porto will reportedly receive $14.8 million for Deco and will also sign Barcelona’s Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma, whose transferred has been valued at $7.4 million. — AP
