Volleyball tourney

KATHMANDU: Democratic National Youth Union is organising the Western Region Men’s Open and Valleywide Inter-school Girls’ Volleyball Tournament here on October 23-27. In all nine teams will vie for the championship in the Men’s Open section while six teams will fight for the Inter-school championship. Nepal Police Club footballer Ramesh Budhathoki will also be felicitated on the inaugural day of the tournament, said the organisers here at a press meet on Wednesday. — HNS

Karki set to depart

KATHMANDU: Nepali taekwondo coach and International referee Kumar Bahadur Karki is leaving for Portland on Thursday to officiate in the seventh International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship. After officiating the Portland tournament, Karki is also set to

visit the headquarters of the World Taekwondo Federation in South Korea. — HNS
