Mangal Deep triumph

LALITPUR: Bimala Tamang scored a brace as Mangal Deep Secondary School defeated St Xavier’s (Godavari) 2-0 to win the ANFA JFA Inter-school Girls’ Football Tournament here on Sunday. Tamang, who was later declared player of the match, gave Mangal Deep the lead in the 13th minute before adding another a minute later. Both the finalists received trophies and track suits. In all, 12 teams participated in the tournament organised by Women’s Football Committee and supported by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Japan Football Association. — HNS
