Bogati wins

KATHMANDU: Amit Bogati won the Caddies Golf Competition here at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa on Wednesday. Bogati finished 12 over 84 to claim the championship played on stroke-play format. Dipendra Rayamajhi ended up as runner up with three strokes behind the winner. Rajendra Shrestha and Purushottam Kuikel were tied for the fourth at 88. Bogati and Rayamajhi won Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,500 respectively while Shrestha and Kuikel won Rs 5,500 each. In all, 21 golfers were awarded with cash prizes in the event participated by 31 caddies. Le Meridien general manager Vikram Singh Jaiswal gave away the prizes. — HNS

Monsoon Meet 2008

KATHMANDU: Sridiwa International School is organising the fourth Monsoon Meet 2008 Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on August 23-30. In all, 39 teams from 20 schools will vie for the championships in three categories — senior boys, girls and junior boys. Top two teams

from each of the group will advance to the knock out rounds. — HNS

Table Tennis tourney

KATHMANDU: The third Hariram Joshi Memorial Table Tennis Tournament is scheduled to begin here from Saturday. The two-day event features four events — U-14 and U-12 in both the boys and girls’ sections. Around 50 schools of Kathmandu Valley will take part in the tournament. — HNS
