Franklin Cup

KATHMANDU: Hosts Mahendra Bhawan Higher Secondary School and Valley Public School cruised to the semi-finals of the Franklin Cup second Inter-school Girls Basketball Tournament here on Sunday. Seema Karki netted 25 points alone as Mahendra Bhawan defeated Gillitte 36-11 and Valley Public beat Gyan Niketan 32-5 riding on eight points from Sushmita Malla. Also advancing to the last four were defending champion Rato Bangala and Prithvi School. Rato Bangala ousted Penwood Academy 33-22 with Neharika Pant scoring 22 points for the winners and Prithvi saw off Wilson Academy 25-12. Nisha contributed 12 for Prithvi School. — HNS
