Shrestha wins

KATHMANDU: Jayaram Shrestha won the All Nepal CMS Caddies Open Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Monday. With the win Shrestha pocketed Rs 17,000, while Krishna Hari Mizar, who finished second, received Rs 11,700. Om Thakuri came third and earned Rs 9,000. Kishan Kaliraj, Santosh Rokka, Prakash Neupane, Meghraj Baral, Bharat Gautam, Sudarshan Puri and Dipendra Rayamajhi completed the top 10. Mizar also won the longest drive award, while Baral and Kaliraj bagged the closest to the pin and most birdies award respectively. A total of 47 golfers took part in the event sponsored by ISME Pvt Ltd. — HNS

Little Angels’ in semis

LALITPUR: Little Angels’ School and Budhanilkantha advanced to the semi-finals of the fourth SNB Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament. Little Angel’s defeated Galaxy Public School by 34 runs and Budhanilkantha beat Deep Jyoti by 11 runs. Little Angel’s scored 135-4 in 20 overs with man of the match Shailesh Chipalu scoring unbeaten 34 and Mukesh Jaiswal contributing 30 runs. Galaxy could only muster 101-8. Prithu Baskota made 38 runs for Galaxy. In another match, Budhanilkantha were all out for 111 runs in 18.5 overs and restricted Deep Jyoti to 100 in 18.3 overs. Man of the match Ajit claimed four wickets for Budhanilkantha. — HNS

KATHMANDU: New Summit edged past Kathmandu Xavier Public 25-22 in the second New Millennium Inter-school Basketball Tournament. LRI outscored Greenfield 59-24 with Ram Bahadur Deuba top-scoring with 14 points for the winners. Earlier, Daffodil Public School got a walkover win from Mt Senai School. — HNS
