Thapa claims title

LALITPUR: Hira Bahadur Thapa won the men’s open title beating Suresh Kumar Gurung 9-3, 7-9, 9-3, 9-7 in the final of the fourth National Squash Tournament here on Saturday. Lal Bahadur Gurung got a walk over from Manoj Bahadur Shrestha to claim

the plate championship. On Friday, Kiran Maharjan defeated Robin Gurung for the Novice title while Bhawana Sunuwar bagged the women’s league honour and Raju Pratap KC bagged the Veterans’ (above-55) league championship. Member secretary of the National Sports Council Jeevan Ram Shrestha gave away prizes to the winners. — HNS
