SA Judo C’ship

KATHMANDU: The continental meeting of the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) held on September 9 in Rio de Janerio has decided to host the South Asian Judo Championship in Nepal in September 2008. The meeting also nominated Nepal Judo Association (NJA) president Deepak Harsha Bajracharya as the member of the Judo for Peace Commission under International Judo Federation. — HNS

Buddhi leaves for SA

KATHMANDU: The ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel umpire Buddhi Bahadur Pradhan left for South Africa to participate in the ICC Referee Seminar to be held on the sidelines of the World Twenty20 Championship. The umpires from ICC Elite Panel and International Panel will also take part in the seminar. — HNS

Green signal to NTSC

LALITPUR: Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City on Friday gave green signal to Nabil Three Star Club (NTSC) to build commercial building on its land in Lagankhel. Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City gave the land on lease to the local club. Krishna Prasad Devkota, Executive Officer of the Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City handed over the letter to NTSC president Lalit Krishna Shrestha. Meanwhile, Devkota also gave away the Rs 200,000 cash prize to the football team that finished second in the Municipality Cup. — HNS
