KATHMANDU: Robindra Khatri scored 26 as Shankar Dev defeated Bishal Milan Kendra 81-59 in the fourth Fr Watrin Basketball Championship. In other matches, Bishalnagar Youth Club beat Don Bosco 94-66, Southsiders overcame Nepal Basketball Academy 82-69 and FW Taylor edged Yarlung Club 77-70. After the league round, Himalayan White House, Southsiders, K&K, Shankar Dev, Kathmandudes, Public Youth Campus, Bishalnagar Youth Club and FW Taylor entered the last eight. — HNS

Keshari breaks record

KATHMANDU: Keshari Chaudhary of Mid-western Development Region set a highjump national record during the School-level National Athletics Tournament. Keshari set a new mark of 1.45 metres breaking her own mark of 1.43m set last year. Keshari on Wednesday set national record in triple jump. Other winners were Dullu Ram Chaudhary (boys’ highjump), Laxmi Chaudhary (girls’ javelin throw), Bibek Lama (boys’ javelin throw), Krishna Tuitui (boys’ 5,000m), Janaki Upadhyaya (girls’ 800m), and Sunil Twayana (boys’ 800m). — HNS

KATHMANDU: HIMS beat Paragon 43-26 on the opening day of the third HIMS Inter-school Basketball Tournament. In other matches, Sridiwa defeated St Xavier’s 40-19, Valley Public edged Namgyal 26-19 and Rhododendron International Boarding School pulled out a nail biting 25-24 win over Shuvatara (Lamatar). — HNS
