Tennis academy opens

LALITPUR: All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA) opened the National Tennis Academy here. The academy will conduct training two days a week in three courses — basic, intermidiate and advance. ANLTA president Manoj Rana inaugurated the academy. In all, 42 students have so far enrolled for the trainning. — HNS

LAGOS: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday announced the top three nominees for the 2006 African Player of the Year Award following a vote by the coaches of member-national associations. The three players are Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Samuel Eto’o. The African Player for 2006 will be announced on March 1 in Accra. — AFP
