Chelsea beat Pompey

LONDON: Andriy Shevchenko’s goal drought finally came to an end as Chelsea beat Portsmouth to move to the top of the Premiership on Saturday. The 30-million-pound striker’s first goal in ten matches set Jose Mourinho’s side on their way to a 2-1 win. Didier Drogba headed Robben’s cross back across goal and Michael Ballack steamed in to nod it past James to double their lead. Benjani Mwaruswari scored for Pompey.— AFP
