Neville loses appeal

LONDON: Manchester United captain Gary Neville lost his appeal on Wednesday against a $9,000 fine for his over-zealous celebrations during a match against Liverpool in January. The 31-year-old ran towards the small section of Liverpool fans at Old Trafford after defender Rio Ferdinand scored a last-minute winner for the Red Devils. Neville had kissed his badge and celebrated right under the noses of the Liverpool fans. — AFP
