U-16 Badminton
KATHMANDU: Nepal Badminton Association (NBA) and Youth Development Centre, under the auspices of Asian Badminton Confederation, are organising the Regional U-16 Boys’ Team Event Badminton Champion-ship from November 18-19 in Kathmandu. A 45-member organising committee under NBA president Prakash Bahadur Shahi has been formed. Nepal, India and Sri Lanka are taking part in the event. Kishor Rana, Sushil Bista, Shahdev Khadka and Rajendra Paneru are representating Nepal. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Abhinash scored 14 points as Don Bosco ‘B’ defeated Campion Academy 41-25 in the Inter-college Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Kathmandu Don Bosco College. In other matches, White Field thrashed CIT 52-23 riding on Nabin Maharjan’s 20 points; and RIBS beat Campion Academy 58-52 in which Rupak Gurung netted 21 points for the winners. In girl’ section match, Shiva netted 12 points in DAV’s 30-10 win over Xavier International. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Young Hearts and hosts Unique entered the final of the first Unique Valleywide Junior Boys’ Basketball Tournament. In the semi-finals, Young Hearts beat Universal School 32-22 riding on Nawang Norbu’s 14 points, while Deepak Gurung netted 18 points in the hosts’ 29-20 win over Lyceum Model School. — HNS
