Times Club oust White House

Kathmandu, September 25:

Wisdom Pandey netted 20 points as The Times Club ousted Himalayan White House 72-65 in the men’s quarter-final of the Samsung National Basketball Championship here today.

Also entering the semis were Golden Gate, Public Youth Campus and Rhododendron Internationa Boarding School (RIBS).

The Times made a strong comeback in the second half after trailing by seven points. White House led the first two quarters scoring 12 and 25 while giving away 10 and 20 to The Times. Times added a massive 25 points while containing their opponents to 13 in the third quarter. Times ensured a semi-final berth adding further 17 to that of the 15 of White House. Binod netted 18 for White House.

Golden Gate trounced Rupandehi 82-39 in another quarter-final. Golden Gate managed 21, 18, 22 and 21 to Rupandehi’s nine, 11, 11 and eight respectively. Khem Thapa of Rupandehi top-scored with 19 points. Sushil Gurung contributed 18 for Golden Gate.

Public Youth Campus (PYC) eased past Nepal Basketball Academy (NBA) 69-48 in another quarter-final. Paresh netted 13 for NBA and Bikram Joshi scored 10 for PYC. Robin Khatri scored the highest 19 points as RIBS thrashed Kaski 80-50. Ganesh Gurung netted 14 points for Kaski.

Golden Gate will take

on PYC and RIBS will face The Times in the men’s semi-finals while Rato

Bangala will meet Bishal Nagar Youth Club and Prime Sports Club clash with RIBS in the women’s semi-finals on Wednesday.
