KATHMANDU: Times International College defeated Ideal HS School 5-4 in penalty shootout and claimed the title of the Alfa Beta Inter-college Futsal Tournament here at the Sankhamul Futsal on Friday.

The winners of the final match were decided in spot kick battle after both the teams played a 1-1 draw in the regulation time. Bibek Gurung, Santosh Mahat, Anish Karki, Anil Khadka and Aashish Sunam scored from spot for Times, while Urken Sherpa, Sagar Syangtang, Amit Lama and Suraj Jeu Thakuri scored for Ideal.

Earlier, Bibek Gurung scored a goal for Times and Urken Sherpa replied for Ideal in the regulation time. Meanwhile, Saipal Academy thrashed Kanjirowa 9-0 and finished third. The top three teams got Rs 100,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.

Suraj Jeu Thakuri of Ideal was named the best player of the tournament, while Mukesh Tamang of Saipal, who netted 11 goals, was the highest scorer and got Rs 10,000 each
