TAC beat Rupandehi, advance to semis

Tribhuvan Army Club outplayed Rupandehi-XI 2-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Rumpum Jhapa Gold Cup here at the Domalal Stadium today.
Second half goals from Nawayug Shrestha and skipper Bharat Khawas guided Tribhuvan Army Club to the last four.
After a goalless draw in the first half, Shrestha put TAC ahead in the 60th minute following a pass from Bimal Pandey.
Skipper Khawas found the back of the nets in the 73rd minute utilising Tek Bahadur Budhathoki’s cross to double
advantage.
TAC also wasted a couple of goal scoring chances. Tek Bahadur Budhathoki’s shot was denied by Rupandehi goalkeeper Deelip Chhetri, while Khawas’ header rebounded hitting the top bar in the 23rd minute.
At the other end, Rupandehi’s Shiva Subedi failed to convert a header in the 35th minute.
TAC’s Nawayug Shrestha was named the man-of-the-match and got Rs 700,000, while Deepak Shrestha was lucky spectator and received Rs 5,000.
On Wednesday, Rumpum Jhapa-XI will play against Far-west for a place in the semi-finals.
