KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club won three gold medals on the final day of the third National Fencing Championship on Saturday.

Kamala Shrestha came first in women’s Individual Sabre beating her TAC teammate Rabina Thapa.

TAC’s Ashmita Basnet and APF’s Mina Devi Paudel finished joint third.

In men’s section, Central Region’s Amit Bhandari claimed gold medal defeating Dinesh Pandey of TAC. TAC duo Madan Thapa and Nur Bahadur Thapa were joint third. TAC also won women’s team event gold medals of Sabre and Epee events.

Central and APF finished second and third respectively in women’s Epee and Sabre respectively.

APF won men’s team event of Epee leaving behind Central and TAC, while Central won Sabre team event gold.

APF and TAC finished second and third respectively.

National Sports Council Vice-president Lama Tendi Sherpa among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
