KATHMANDU: Golden Gate Sports Club and Trinity International College ensured the men’s section championship match after their two teams qualified for the semi-finals of the Fr Donnelly 3 on 3 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament here today.

Golden Gate ‘A’ defeated their own Team ‘AB’ 21-8, 21-11 in straight sets while their Team ‘B’ bounced back from a humiliating first set to eliminated Prime ‘A’ 0-21, 21-15, 21-5. Trinity ‘A’ handed Rato Bangala a frustrating 21-0, 21-5 defeat and Trinity ‘C’ ousted their own Team ‘B’ 16-21, 21-9, 21-15. In the semi-finals, Golden Gate ‘B’ will meet Trinity ‘C’ and Golden Gate ‘A’ will face Trinity ‘A’.

Hosts Godavari Alumni Association (GAA), B Square, Prime Sports Club and Trungram International Academy (TIA) have already made it to the semi-finals in the women’s section. GAA will take on B Square and Prime are up against TIA in the semi-finals. All four semi-final matches are scheduled for Thursday.
