TU, NSC ink deal
KATHMANDU: National Sports Council (NSC) and Tribhuvan University (TU) inked an agreement for the construction of International Standard Multi-purpose Covered Hall here on Wednesday. Vice-chancellor of TU Hira Bahadur Maharjan and NSC member secretary Keshav Kumar Bista signed the 14 points agreement in the presence of Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel. According to the agreement the Covered Hall to be constructed in 50-ropani land, will be named Tribhuvan University Covered Hall.
Players off to Lanka
KATHMANDU: A four-member National Basketball players on Thursday will fly to Sri Lanka to participate in the South Asian Basketball Association 3X3 Championship slated for August 1-3. Sadish Pradhan will lead the squad of Ayush Singh, Bikram Joshi and Ashim Shrestha. The event is regarded as the qualifying round of 3x3 world tour champion slated for September 15-16 in Beijing.
TIA, NASA win
KATHMANDU: TIA and NASA College advanced to the semi-finals in girls’ section of the second Ganesh Man Singh Memorial Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament here on Wednesday. TIA edged past NASA 11-10 but NASA also qualified for semi-finals as group winners. Golden Gate thrashed CCRC 23-12. In boys’ section, Golden Gate registered 43-34 win over Xavier International, while Times beat Gyan Niketan 33-31 and Prime Routed Rhedon 60-34.

KATHMANDU: Cricket Association of Nepal on Wednesday announced 14-member U-19 squad for the ACC U-19 Premier Cricket Tournament slated for August 26 – September 4 in Malaysia. Raju Rijal will lead the squad of Dipendra Airee, Saurav Khanal, Shankar Rana, Sandip Sunar, Sunil Dhamala, Yogendra Karki, Aarif Seikh, Dipesh Shrestha, Sushil Kandel, Prem Tamang, Raj Bir Singh, Aashish Dhami and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi. Irsad Ahmed, Kushal Bhurtel, Kamal Airee and Himansu Dutt are included as reserve players.
