United Youth beat Naxal

Ashok Sunuwar slammed a hat-trick as United Youth Club blanked Naxal Youth Association 3-0 and Bouddha Football Club defeated Tushal Youth Club 5-2 in the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘B’ Division League today.

Bouddha now tops the standings with nine points, Tushal and United have three points each and Naxal has one point. Ashok Sunuwar gave United the lead in the 12th minute. He added another in the 26th minute. Despite Naxal Club defender Amir’s effort to clear the ball, Sunuwar completed the hat-trick capitalising on Naxal goalkeeper Binod Shah’s error in the 76th minute.

In an earlier match, Tushal took lead through Danish Shrestha, who headed home following Krishna Saru’s free kick. Umesh Lama scored an equaliser in the 28th minute on Pradeep Kunwar’s pass. Krishna Saru of Tushal committed a blunder in the 52nd minute as he headed the ball into his own net. Six minutes later, Bijay Gautam of Bouddha made it 3-1 through a header.

Umesh Lama scored his second and fourth goal for Bouddha in the 75th minute. In the 81st minute Subin Shakya made it 5-1 for his team. Tushal skipper Tirtha Lama pulled one back in the 83rd minute.
