Kathmandu, January 28:

Umesh Upreti scored twice as Carlsberg Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) came from behind to beat Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 2-1 while NIB Friends Club recorded a solid 4-0 win over Saraswoti Youth Club in the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League Football.

Upreti levelled the scores on a superb freekick from edge of the box in the 53rd minute after Nirmal Tamang had put BBC ahead in the 40th minute. Adidas man of the match Upreti then scored the winner in the 57th.

In the second game, skipper Rabin Byanjankar struck twice while Bijay Mahat and Raj Kumar KC scored one goal each for Friends. Byanjankar put Friends ahead on a diving header on a freekick from KC in the 68th minute. Adidas man of the match Byanjankar doubled the tally two minutes later again on KC’s freekick before Mahat made it 3-0 in the 78th minute. KC sealed Friends’ victory scoring from a 20-yard freekick three mintues into the second half injury time.
