KATHMANDU: Valley Public School defeated three-time champions Gyanodaya Bal Batika 37-34 in the final to win the fourth Milan Inter-school Girls’ Basketball Tournament here today.

Valley Public led the first quarter 11-9 and hold on to their lead in the second quarter with 8-8. The winners then extended their lead in the third quarter scoring 14-8. The defending champions bounced back in the final quarter scoring nine points while restricting the opponent to just four points but could not avert their defeat.

Sarita Shrestha, who was later adjudged most valuable player of the tournament, scored 18 points for the winners including two three-pointers. Mahima Gurung of Gyanodaya won the highest scorer award.
