KATHMANDU: Vice-President of International Association of Athletics Federations Sergey Bubka, who is a former pole vault champion, visited various sites affected by the April 25 earthquake in the Kathmandu Valley on Saturday.

Bubka, who arrived here in Nepal as a special guest of Nepal Athletics Association yesterday evenining, started his day from the Dasharath Stadium.

He inspected the infrastructure damaged by the massive earthquake, and met Nepali athletes and coaches also.

Later, visited the Nepal Olympic Committee’s building in Satdobato.

Bubka is a member of the International Olympic Committee.

He visited the UNESCO World Heritage sites– Durbar Squares in Bhaktapur and Basantapur of Kathmandu.
