MELAMCHI: Departmental sides Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal APF Club along with Young Star and Western Regional Volleyball Association advanced to the semi-finals of the second Open Men’s National Volleyball Tournament on Friday.

In the quarter-final matches, TAC defeated Melamchi Municipality 25-16, 25-14, 25-18 and Young Star saw off Jugal Youth Heart Club 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, 18-22, 20-18. Also, APF beat Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre 25-13, 26-24, 25-15 and Western outplayed Three Star Academy 25-9, 25-22, 25-21.

In semi-finals, TAC will take on Young Star and APF will play against Western. The semi-finals and final will be played on Saturday. Top three teams will earn Rs 152,000, Rs 82,000 and Rs 52,000 respectively. — HNS
