LALITPUR: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan registered straight-set victories to advance to the final of the AVC Asian Central Zone Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship here at the Nepali Army Sports Complex covered hall on Thursday.

Kyrgyzstan upset defending champions Turkmenistan 25-17, 25-18, 25-22 in the first semi-final match, while Uzbekistan registered a 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 victory over Maldives to make to the final.

Turkmenistan and Maldives will now contest in third-place match, while Nepal and Afghanistan — who finished third in their respective groups — will face each other in the fifth-place playoff match on Friday.

The final is slated for Saturday.
