White House defend title

Himalayan White House International College (HWHIC) successfully defended the third KCC Runing Trophy Inter-college Cricket Tournament with a five-wicket victory over Kathmandu Don Bosco College, here today. The nine-day event was organised by KCC Sports Club and The Himalayan Times was the official media. Batting first, Kathmandu Don Bosco scored 106 runs losing nine wickets in 25 overs. Daniel Shrestha scored 31 off 57 balls including two boundaries. For HWHIC, Sabin Udas, Akash Pandey and Lakpa Lama claimed two wickets each whereas Sharad Vesawkar grabbed one. In reply, HWHIC overcame the target in 18.2 overs losing five wickets. Man of the match Prem Chaudhary reamined unbeaten on 41 off 37 balls including four boundaries and two sixes. Rejan Karmacharya and Lakpa Lama also scored 24 and 14 runs respectively. For Don Bosco, Arjun Rayamajhi and Bishal Thapa took two wickets each. Saroj Basnet of ACME Engneering College was adjudged the man of the series and recieved Rs 10,000. Suman Kandel of ACME was named the best bowler and Bishal Thapa of Don Bosco got the best batsman’s award. TU rector Mahendra Singh gave away prizes to the winners.
