KATHMANDU: Wilson ‘A’, People’s, Daffodil ‘A’ and TIA advanced to the senior boys’ section semi-finals of the 19th Wilson Hoops Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Friday.

Sushant Lama scored 14 points as Wilson ‘A’ defeated Teresa 56-26 in the quarter-final match, while People’s beat Kathmandu Xavier 46-39 riding in 17 points from Sanket Shahi. Likewise, Daffodil ‘A’ outplayed Neric 53-35 in which Ang Phurba starred with 25 points for the winning side, whereas Amon Kambang netted 26 to help TIA beat Sanskriti 52-23. In girls’ section, Wilson, St Xavier’s, Reliance and TIA made it to the last four.

Wilson beat Sanskriti 35-23 riding in 18 points from Simran Gurung, while St Xavier’s defeated Mangaldeep 19-7. Likewise, Sadhana GC netted 12 points in Reliance’s 40-19 victory over Scibs, whereas TIA hammered Manjushree 38-21 in which Rinchen Moktan top scored for the winning team with 17 points. Hosts Wilson made it three in three when their junior boys’ team advanced to the semis along with Neric, Manjushree and Greenfield.

Wilson defeated Gyan Niketan 37-17 riding on 21 points from Suraj Shrestha, while Indra Khatri netted 17 points as Neric overwhelmed Laxmipur 35-11. Also, Manjushree outplayed Heartland 50-21, while Greenfield beat Wilson ‘B’ 22-15.
