KATHMANDU: Wilson Academy and Daffodil advanced to the senior boys’ section final of the 19th Wilson Hoops Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.

Hosts Wilson hammered TIA 100-68 in the high scoring semi-final match in which Pemba Sherpa contributed 29 points for the winning side. In another match, Kushal Shrestha netted 20 points to help Daffodil beat People’s 58-48. TIA avenged their senior boys’ category loss to Wilson beating the hosts 39-16 in the girls’ section semi-final riding on 14 points from Rinchen Moktan. TIA will face Reliance, who defeated St Xavier’s 28-15 in which Rina Bhandari netted nine points for the winners.

In junior boys’ section, Wilson and Neric advanced to the final. Suraj Shrestha netted 37 points alone as Wilson defeated Manjushree 48-31, while Indra Khatri scored 10 points in Neric’s 32-28 victory over Greenfield. In staff section 3X3 semi-finals, Wilson beat Gurukul 21-11 and NIBS defeated Teresa 21-14.
