KATHMANDU: Daffodil, Sanskriti and Neric advanced to the boys’ category quarter-finals of the 18th Wilson Hoops Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Friday.

Daffodil defeated Heartland 52-31 riding on Ang Phurba’s 30 points, while Sanskriti beat Kathmandu Xaviers 58-54 in which Minal Joshi netted 23 points for the winners. Neric thrashed Zenith 50-19 after Pawan Khatri scored 17 points.

In girls’ category, Rinchen Moktan netted 12 as TIA beat Excelsior 30-2, while Reliance saw off Himalayan 32-5 riding on Kavita Shrestha’s 12 points. Similarly, SVI outplayed Sanskriti 25-14 in which Rakshya Shrestha contributed eight points, while Garima Kumal netted 10 points to help Wilson beat Zenith 50-19.

In junior section, Wilson beat Panchayan 42-33 and Neric saw off Daffodil 38-22 to advance to last eight. — HNS
