KATHMANDU: Nepal Commerce Campus (NCC) and Xavier International College entered the final of the Akhil Cup Inter-college Football Tournament here today.

At the Dasharath Stadium, Xavier edged past Patan Multiple College 1-0 riding on a solitary goal from Bibhusan KC while NCC beat Golden Gate 5-4 in sudden death.

In a see-saw battle, NCC and Golden Gate failed to score in the regular 90 minutes despite creating many goal scoring opportunities. The match went to tie breaker after the teams couldn’t break the deadlock in the extra time.

In tie-breaker, Thomson Bhusal, Mahendra Chaudhary and Bijaya Tamang converted the spot kicks for NCC while Siddhi Shrestha and Saroj Dahal missed the target. Shiva Shrestha, Sujal Shrestha and Rupesh KC scored for Golden Gate. Rabi Thapa and Naresh Pokharel failed to score.

In the sudden death, Niresh Dulal and Gautam Deula scored for NCC and it was all over for Golden Gate when Bishal Rai missed his shot after Jagjeet Shrestha found the back of the net. The final is on Saturday.
