Chamber of Commerce and Industry shut down Lahan
LAHAN: The city area of Lahan in Siraha district remained closed on Saturday to protest a bomb explosion in the locality that left eight people injured. The protestors demanded action against those behind the explosion.
The market remained shut throughout the day. The agitation was led by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Lahan.
"The protest was organised to make government bodies aware of increasing incidents of explosions and attacks on business persons," said Sunil Mahato, President of the CCI, Lahan, adding that the concerned authority must guarantee their security. A series of protests would be on the horizon if their demands were not met, he said.
Eight persons including a seven-year-old child were injured in the explosion at Lahan bazaar on Friday. An outfit Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary) operating in Tarai has owned up the explosion.
