Govt decides to renew efforts for negotiation, PM to formally invite agitating parties

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to hold talks with the agitating parties in order to resolve their differences over the provisions in the new Constitution.

As per the Cabinet decision made today, Prime Minister KP Sharma would formally invite the United Democratic Madhesi Front and other agitating forces to come to the table for formal talks.

Also, the government would form a talks team after consulting the coalition allies and supporters.

The Cabinet discussed the ongoing fuel crisis in country and the obstruction in supplies from India to Nepal, and decided to take diplomatic initiative to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet meeting has appointed Indra Bhandari and Pramod Dahal as the Prime Minister's personal secretary and press adviser respectively.
