Indian Ambassador Puri calls on Vice President

 

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjiv Singh Puri has called on Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun on Tuesday.

During the meeting held at the Office of the Vice President, Pun said that Nepal was moving ahead towards political stability after the elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies, Vice-president's press coordinator Manoj Gharti said.

The Vice-president also said that Nepal-India relation has prospered at the peoples' level including the cultural, religious and linguistic ties.

Vice-president Pun also extended his best wishes to Indian President, Vice-president, Prime Minister, politicians and the Indian nationals through the Indian Ambassador on the occasion of upcoming 70th Independence Day of India.

Press Coordinator Gharti said that the Indian Ambassador said that India was keen to co-work with the new government in Nepal.

India has welcomed and respected people's verdict expressed through the polls and the elections have strengthened Nepal's democracy, Puri said.
