Diarrhoea claims six lives

JAJARKOT: Diarrhoea claimed six more lives on Tuesday and Wednesday in VDCs, located in the eastern part of Jajarkot and about 66 km away from the district headquarters. The epidemic has been causing havoc in Rokayagaon, Ramidanda, Nayakbada, Chakla and Talegaon VDCs since the third week of April. According to the District Police Office, Pasupai Nepali (25) of Rokayagaon died on Tuesday evening. Moti BK (55) and Bhakta Bahadur Nepali (14) of Talegaon died on Wednesday. Two male patients died in Ramidanda VDC and a woman passed away in Chakla VDC. But these victims’ identity is yet to be ascertained. Dr Krishna Hari Subedi, chief, District Health Office, said a team of health workers had left for the affected areas. So far, the disease has claimed 22 lives in remote Jajarkot. — HNS
