KATHMANDU: Police said they have arrested a shaman on charge of raping a 29-year-old woman from Papasi of Gahanapur-5, Banke on Tuesday.

Identified as Durgesh Kumar Mishra (26), the suspect raped the victim on the pretext of driving out evil spirits from her last night.

Police swung into action and took the accused in custody after the victim lodged a complaint against him at the District Police Office, Banke.

Police said they are looking into both the case.
