‘Aceh security being hit’

Associated Press

Jakarta, May 5:

The head of Indonesia’s intelligence agency said some foreign aid groups in tsunami-hit Aceh province were “harming the security situation” with their activities there, a newspaper reported today.

The report will likely alarm international aid groups working in Aceh, some of whom have

expressed fear they may soon be asked to leave the province, which was closed to foreigners before the December 26 tsunami struck.

The province is home to a long-running separatist war.
