PRAGUE: Britain's prime minister is heading to Prague in efforts to win support from Czech leaders for his government's demands for European Union reform.

David Cameron has committed to holding a referendum on Britain's EU membership by the end of 2017. Before that, he is seeking a new deal for Britain, most controversially welfare limits for other EU nationals intended to control migration and keep Britain within the bloc.

Some nations, including new EU members from Central Europe such as the Czech Republic, see that as violating the fundamental principle of free movement among the bloc's member states.

Cameron's Czech counterpart, Bohuslav Sobotka, whom he meets Friday in Prague, previously said his country is not ready to support "any discriminatory measures against EU citizens."
