British PM in Austria for talks including EU referendum
VIENNA: British Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to focus on Britain's planned EU referendum, the refugee crisis and a nuclear project that Austria opposes in an upcoming meeting with his Austrian counterpart.
Cameron is meeting Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann in Vienna late Thursday.
Britain plans to hold a referendum within two years on continued EU membership and is pushing for reforms within the 28-nation bloc that reduce the authority of institutions at EU headquarters in Brussels.
London faces a legal challenge from Austria over EU subsidies for the planned Hinkley Point C nuclear plant. Austria, which has no nuclear power, sees the grants as violating European law and potentially distorting the energy market.
