Building collapse
TBILISI: Officials in the former Soviet republic of Georgia say two people have been killed after the collapse of a building belonging to the Justice Ministry in the capital. The entire central section of the nine-story building in Tbilisi crumbled to
the ground Friday, killing two construction workers and trapping
two others. Tatiya Gigani of the city’s Emergency Situations Ministry
says the whole building was undergoing reconstruction work, but it
was unclear why the central section gave way. Rescue teams are sifting through the rubble in search of the missing workers.
