KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 13

A firing which occurred at a wrestling venue close to a private college in Rohtak, Haryana of India has killed five persons and injured two more, on Friday evening.

In the incident, among the seven persons who were hit, five have been reported dead, including two women wrestlers.

According to India Today, initial police investigation suggested that the firing occurred due to an old enmity. "The officials said that as per preliminary information, a wrestling coach is alleged to have opened fire, but police said they were verifying exact details," stated India Today.

Further information from the Asian News International (ANI) that quoted SP Rohtak, Rahul Sharma, clarifies that the main accused Sukhwinder, who is a wrestling coach, was terminated by one of the deceased after a complaint.

The First Information Report (FIR) states that the deceased person - also a wrestling coach -- had asked the accused, to not come to the wrestling centre following a complaint from the family of a woman wrestler. The FIR was registered at PGIMS Rohtak under Arms Act and Indian Penal Code against two accused people.

The motive, prima facie, has been known to be anger. The Indian police have initiated the process for postmortem and further investigation into the case.

It has also been learnt that the accused carries Rs 1 lakh bounty on him.
