Palestinian killed after West Bank attack on Israeli troops

JERUSALEM: Israeli police say a Palestinian was shot and killed after ramming his car into a group of Israelis in the West Bank. The army says two Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack.

Spokeswoman Luba Samri says the Palestinian purposely drove his car into a bus stop on Friday morning.

It's the latest attack in a two-month wave of violence. Since mid-September, 19 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, mostly stabbings and shootings. At least 95 Palestinians have also died, including 59 said by Israel to be attackers. The others died in clashes with Israeli forces.

Israel blames the violence on incitement by Palestinian leaders and on social media sites. Palestinians say the attacks stem from a lack of hope for gaining independence after years of failed peace efforts.
