Shyam Saran meets Musharraf

Islamabad, September 2:

India’s Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran met Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf today, a day after the former held talks with his Pakistani counterpart in an effort to resolve the disputes between the rival neighbour countries. Relations between the two countries have been thawing since 2004 and the two sides have been holding talks aimed at resolving their disputes, including the sensitive core issue of Kashmir. Saran “conveyed a message of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Musharraf and discussed a range of issues,” an official at president’s office said.

The official said Musharraf told Saran that Pakistan wants to carry forward the continuing peace process between the two countries to ensure the early resolution of all major issues, including Kashmir.
