Petrol pumps shut

MUMBAI: Nearly 2,200 gas stations across Maharashtra shut down on Monday to protest a high tax on auto fuel. Long queues of vehicles built up outside gas stations run by state-owned companies that didn’t join the strike. Private owners of gas stations said the strike would continue until the government lowered the tax. — AP
