Minister suspended

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s ruling UMNO party has suspended its vice president, Isa Samad, for six years for corruption, reports said on Saturday. Isa, who is also Federal Territories Minister, was found guilty of vote buying in a party election. — AFP

House caves in, 4 die

MUMBAI: An old residential building collapsed on Friday during rain in Mumbai, killing four people, fire officials said on Saturday. Two were still believed trapped in the debris and five others were rescued from the rubble of the building. — AP

Two killed in blast

LADHA: A truck carrying bombs, of rockets, missiles and other weapons exploded on a road in a tribal region of Pakistan on Saturday, and the driver and his assistant were killed, an official said. The dead men belonged to a Wazir tribe. — AP
