57 new Covid-19 cases registered on Saturday; nationwide tally hits 272,614

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 13
Nepal on Saturday reported 57 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,614.
Of the total cases, 27 are females while 30 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 31 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases. Kathmandu district alone witnessed 24 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported six new cases while Bhaktapur logged only one case, today. Presently, there are 995 active cases in Kathmandu district while Lalitpur has 31 active cases and Bhaktapur 17.
Likewise, 133 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 268,929 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,631.
The nationwide death-toll remains at 2,054 with no fatalities reported today. Two coronavirus related deaths had been reported on Friday.
According to the health ministry, 1,900 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,113,549 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 81 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,557 with 127 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 108 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.3 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 80 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 25 million cases are still active.
