APF maintain winning run

LALITPUR, FEBRUARY 13

Sabitra Bhandari scored five goals alone as Nepal APF Club defeated Waling Municipality 6-0 in the National Women's League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

The national team striker Bhandari completed her hat-trick in the first half and added two more in the latter half to take her personal tally to 43 goals from nine matches.

Preeti Rai scored one for the departmental side. With their ninth consecutive victory, APF accumulated maximum 27 points to open five-point lead over Tribhuvan Army Football Club with three rounds remaining.

Waling remained at third on 14 points.

Bhandari, who is popularly known as Samba in sports fraternity, opened the scoring in the seventh minute and doubled the tally in the 16th.

She completed her hattrick four minutes later before Rai made it 4-0 in the first half injury time.

Bhandari then found the back of the nets in the 64th minute and injury time.

In another match, Biratnagar Metropolitan City beat Chaudandigadhi Municipality 2-1. Parbati Ghale scored a brace for Biratnagar in the 15th and 87th minutes after Manita Tamang had put Chaudandigadhi ahead with an early goal in the seventh minute.

Tamang's goal was third for Chaudandigadhi in the tournament and they have conceded 94 goals so far.

Biratnagar accumulated 13 points and they are at the fourth position with 13 points, while Chaudandigadhi are yet to open their accounts.
