122 new Covid-19 cases registered on Monday; nationwide tally hits 272,840

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 15

Nepal on Monday reported 122 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,840.

Of the total cases, 42 are females while 80 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 73 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases. Kathmandu district alone witnessed 60 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 10 new cases while Bhaktapur logged only three cases, today. Presently, there are 1,000 active cases in Kathmandu district while Lalitpur has 39 active cases and Bhaktapur 14.

Likewise, 144 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 269,204 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,581.

The nationwide death-toll reached 2,055 with one fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,541 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,120,591 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 79 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,718 with 104 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 109 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 81 million people have recovered from the disease while over 25 million cases are still active.
