125 new Covid-19 cases registered on Wednesday; nationwide tally hits 273,070

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 17
Nepal on Wednesday reported 125 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 273,070.
Of the total cases, 48 are females while 77 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 60 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Kathmandu district alone witnessed 45 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported nine new cases while Bhaktapur logged only six cases, today.
Likewise, 91 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 269,394 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,621.
The nationwide death-toll reached 2,055 with zero fatality reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,838 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,127,789 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 72 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,945 with 105 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 110 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.
Likewise, over 84 million people have recovered from the disease while over 22 million cases are still active.
